Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Cultural City Tour
Welcome to Rwanda! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be met by our guide for a Kigali city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, explore local art galleries, and experience Rwanda’s unique cultural blend of tradition and modernity. All meals & overnight in the lodge.
Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
Depart after breakfast for Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s only savannah reserve and home to the Big Five. After checking in at your lodge, enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and more. All meals & Overnight at a Lodge inside or near Akagera
Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Boat Safari on Lake Ihema
Start your day with a morning game drive through Akagera’s open plains and woodland savannahs. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on Lake Ihema, where hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species await. Meals & Overnight: Same lodge in Akagera
Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, drive northwest through Rwanda’s stunning rolling hills toward **Volcanoes National Park**. Stop for lunch en route and arrive at your lodge in Musanze by evening, with views of the Virunga Mountains.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
A highlight of your safari! After a morning briefing, set off into the rainforest with an expert tracker to find one of the habituated gorilla families. Spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for a well-earned rest. All meals & Overnight: Same lodge in Musanze
Day 6: Visit Lake Kivu – Return to Kigali – Departure
After breakfast, visit nearby Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s Great Lakes, for a short lakeside break or optional boat ride. Later, transfer back to Kigali, stopping for souvenir shopping or a local coffee tasting if time allows. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Meals & overnight.
