Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Welcome to the Land of a Thousand Hills.

Arrival: Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our professional driver-guide will welcome you.
City Tour: Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a brief tour of Kigali. You can visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets, or craft centres.
The Drive: Embark on a scenic 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and countryside along the way.
Check-In: Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and relaxation.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

The Ultimate Wildlife Experience.

07:00 AM: After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters.
08:00 AM: Attend the briefing on trekking rules. Guides will assign you a gorilla family based on your fitness level.
The Trek: Hike into the forest to find the gorillas. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours depending on where the animals are located.
The Encounter: Once you find them, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat.
Relaxation: Return to the lodge for lunch and a rest.
Evening (Optional): Enjoy an Intore traditional dance performance at the lodge or in the nearby community.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

Day 3: Culture or Golden Monkeys & Departure

Choose Your Morning Activity.
After breakfast, you can choose one of the following activities before heading back to the city:

Option A: Golden Monkey Tracking
Hike into the forest again to track the rare and playful Golden Monkeys, which are unique to the Virunga mountains.
Option B: Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
Visit a vibrant local community to learn about Rwandan traditions, watch drumming performances, and see traditional crafts.

Return to Kigali:
After your morning activity, return to the lodge for lunch and check out. You will then drive back to Kigali International Airport for your flight home.
