Day 01: Nairobi – Sirimon Gate
Morning departure and drive north of Nairobi through the central highlands to the Mt. Kenya region a picnic lunch will be served enroute to the park gate from where you will trek to In the afternoon we are driven to the Sirimon Gate and then to roadhead at 11000ft. An easy walk in the afternoon to help acclimatization. Overnight Judmaier Camp (11,000 ft.) in high altitude mountain tents.
Day 02: Sirimon – Liki Valley
Ascend the Sirimon Track to Liki North Valley and camp overnight in this beautiful little valley below the subsidiary peaks of Tereri and Sendeyo, two ancient parasitic vents of the main peaks (13,000 ft.)
Day 03: Liki Valley – Mackinder Valley
Climb out of the North Valley and into the MacKinder Valley , one of the broadest valleys on the mountain, with many giant groundsels. Overnight Shiptons Camp at the head of the MacKinder Valley , just below the main peaks of Batian and Nelion, (14,000 ft.)
Day 04: Mackinder Valley – Teleki Valley
Alpine ascent of the third highest peak, Pt. Lenana (16,355 ft.) On route up the north face little used by tourists. Four hours of stiff walking to the summit. Then descend to Teleki Valley on the opposite side of the main peaks, to MacKinders Camp for a good night’s rest (13,900 ft.)
Day 05: Mackinders – Nairobi
Descend to the Met. Station (road-head) on the Naro Moru Track and then proceed down the mountain to the park gate from where your will be transferred to Nairobi after a lunch stop.
